Hey, all. About 9 months after the purchase of my litter robot 3 connect, I got the rapid yellow flash, telling me I had a fault in my pinch detector. After cleaning the metal bits failed, I ended up cutting the metal ends off and using a butt splice with an environmental seal to connect the 2 wires and bypass the pinch detector all together.

I took it apart and lo and behold these pools of urine collecting inside these large gaps inside the globe. Take the screws out of the base. Unplug the wire from each pinch bar and remove the bars from the plastic slots.
