Feb 16, 2020 · Someone suggested buying the Mopar 02 sensor instead of an off-brand, so I got one and installed it. The P0138 code came back almost immediately. Same location, bank 1 sensor 2. So, bank 1 should be driver's side exhaust, however the down pipe connects to the right side down pipe and runs into one cat.

I have a 1997 Dodge Dakota Sport, 3.9L, 4x4, 5spd. Recently it started losing power going up hills and the Check Engine light came on. At the advice of people on the board, I took it to AutoZone to read the codes. The code came back P0138 which is the Downstream oxygen sensor overvolt.I was just wondering if that might be part of the problem, the engine seems to run fine. When I bought the truck it only had the P0138 code showing, not the P0172 code, now it's showing both. I really like the truck and it's in nice condition for it's age and has the typical rust issues in the early stages.

Finally during tuneup last weekend I had the CEL scanned again, and got P0138, P0037 & P1762.
