Prioritizing or dumping Intelligence is basically more of a build decision for Magus that has pros and cons for both. Putting points into Int gives you the benefits any character that puts points into it get. More trained skills, languages known, and better chance of success at knowledge and lore based skills.

For lots of weak mooks, spellstrike may not be as effective as being able to take multiple swings at multiple enemies (especially if you have cool feats from an archetype) or use AoE (cantrips or slots or staff).
