It will unlock the doors and set the panic alarm off, but the trunk is a no-go. My key works just fine.May 14, 2010 · The first thing I checked was to make sure the wiring didn't come loose. I believe you have diagnosed the problem already. Your fob is defective. If you've only used one for 4 years, now use the other that works. If you get 4 years out of that one, you may never have to buy a replacement.
