GM numbers the cylinders from the front to the back-- so on the Duramax the passenger cylinder head is more to the front than the driver's head- so "1" on passenger side is first. Note-- this is opposite of the other GM V8 engines, where the "1" is on the driver's side.

There will be four studs sticking out of the block with eyelets and harnesses running to each one. I've been using the truck for like 2 weeks now and every once in a while the coolant level will go down maybe an inch and I'll fill it back to full. I finally got a chance to get under it and take a couple pictures.

The locations are on front side of frame ears for right front cab mount, left and right frame ears for core support mounts front side (behind bumper), rear of left front frame ear for cab mount. Also one on top of frame between frame and bed right above spare tire. All are bolts with a 10mm head.
Hello guru’s, my LMM duramax just recently started setting all 8 glow plug codes (P0671-678). The glow plug light comes on for a few seconds when the engine is cold and doesn’t come on when the engine is hot so it acts like they are working as far as the dash indicator. If I clear the codes they don’t come back until the next cold start.It also offers impressive towing specs with a max tow capacity of 9,500 lbs on pickup trucks and 8,200 lbs on SUVs. Despite having a lower maximum towing capacity than the 5.3L V-8 or 6.2L V-8 gasoline-powered engines, the 3.0L Duramax still has one significant advantage.
