I'm not consistent with it past 50yds to feel comfortable hunting with it but that's mostly because the factory sights aren't precise enough for me. I know the gun is capable because I've shot some tight groups, just not all the time.A390 and 3901 barrels interchange. I think Benelli and Beretta both recommend either improved cylinder or cylinder chokes for slugs. You can maybe reach out to Beretta about a different choke or try Federal flight control shotshells. After a few hunts I left it home and was back in business with my 870. In the spring I took it to shoot clays and couldn’t hit a thing.Biscut said: I like the 1301 (I own two) over the 300P. 300P is an excellent SD shotgun but the 1301 is a step above. I like the gas system on the 1301. Bolt is IMO stouter on the 1301 as well. Barrel is a higher end version as well IIRC. Where the 300P beats out the 1301 is the price tag.
