i just recently purchased a 2005 xterra off road, after driving for 5 miles or so the diff lock will turn on, then shuts off and at that point the abs light turns on as does the slip light. the vdc doesnt respond. diff lock button is not hit vdc button doesnt respond. any input would be greatly appreciated. i am new to xterra problems and nissan as well. owned a civic si for 8years, one ...

Most alignment shops won't do this. If the steering angle sensor is way off, the VDC light will stay on and the system will not work at all. If it is only slightly off, it can confuse the computer. The VDC system uses input from the steering sensor, wheel speed sensors, and yaw rate/side/decel g sensor.Jan 3, 2010 · My 2007 Xterra did the same exact thing this morning. The slip light can mean different things at different times. If you are in dirt in 4wd and loose traction, the slip light will flash. This is the ABLS doing it's thing by grabbing the slipping wheel to transfer power to the opposite wheel. If you are going around a corner and the SLIP light flashes, this is the VDC thinking that you are leaning ...I Start my X today after dinner and the service engine+SLIP+VDC Lights go off. WTF!! Well the first thing you will need to do is have the truck scanned for codes. Most likely when you disconnected the battery you cleared the G-Sensor and Steering Angle sensor calibrations. The ABS, VDC and Slip lights were on my 2010 Altima when I started it this afternoon. Car felt odd; traction was horrible despite the roads being all right, taking foot off the break did not have it go around 5 mph like usual. I pulled into a parking lot, checked some things (nothing found), stopped and started a few times.
IF you abs, vdc off, or slip lights are on check these things... 1. Check brake fluid. 2. Check all abs sensors and clips to make sure the wires are not pulled out of plug. 3. check abs sensors on all wheel bearings. The reason i am posting this is because i ran into the same problem with my titan.

If I hit the rear diff switch the REAR DIFF light goes out and then ABS and SLIP come on. I can hear the 4wd engage both high and low when I turn it on with my door open. Xterra Tech Topics. Nissan Mechanic: Mike V. Ok, your biggest issue at the moment is the P0345, this is for the cam position sensor on bank #2. This will indeed cause the stalling issue you are seeing. The P0420 code means there is an issuie with the catalytic converter on bank 1. This can cause stalling, but in most cases won't.
